Dinosaur kits
Dinosaur skeleton models available on the market are few and far between and most "models" are not really models at all, but "sculptures".They have all the vertebra, arms, legs etc cast as single pieces. Not very accurate or realistic and you just dont get that "feel" you are dealing with something that was once living!
This type of "model" is not our ethos at DesertDinosaurs. If the real skeleton cast has X amount of bones, our models have the same. We rely on printed templates scaled to correct size and a few other special methods we have developed to accuratly re-create each bone in detail and in outline. We strive for each bone to have the correct shape, feel and texture of the full sized it represents. When you hold one in your hand it becomes a dinosaur bone, and not just a peice of plastic. The kits themselves are actually hundreds of individual models, all assembled into one spectacular display. It takes years to create one of our master models and a lot of casting expertise.

Upcoming models + ideas
We figured it was probably a good idea to start the "Home Museum" model line with the carnivores. But now that we have half a dozen already made, it's time to start thinking about the herbivores to go with them.
We have not decided exactly which one to start first. there are so many. But a good determining factor is how well the real skeleton was/is documented. If it has all the bones photographed and had a wonderful monograph like Sue did, I would go for that for sure. I really have yet to run into this dino though!
I you know of a specimen that is very well documented that would be a good subject, please Contact us. The better the documentation, the better the model we can build. We don't want to build unless it has all the vertebra column photos/drawings etc. Its just too much artistic license and we strive to make models that represent the full size.
